GO-AHEAD/GO-ASTERN SWITCHING DEVICE FOR INBOARD/OUTBOARD MOTOR

PURPOSE: To instantly feed the comparatively plenty of pressure oil to an oil passage by connecting an accumulator to the oil passage connecting a hydraulic oil chamber which intermittently connects two clutches for going-ahead and going-astern, to an oil pump. ;CONSTITUTION: When the go-ahead/go-astern switching lever 48 of a go-ahead/ go-astern switching device 20 is in a neutral position, a hydraulic changeover valve 45 allows almost all the amount of working oil to be recirculated to a tank through a pressure adjust valve. When the go-ahead/go-astern switching lever 48 is in a position for either going-ahead or going-astern, working oil delivered out of a hydraulic pump 38 is fed to either one of multi-plate clutches 30a and 30b for going-ahead or going-astern. In this case, since the plenty of working oil must be instantly fed to the multi-plate clutches 30a and 30b, hydraulic pressure at the delivery side of the hydraulic pump 38 becomes low, therefore, a part of pressure oil accumulated in an accumulator 50 is fed to the multi-plate clutches 30a and 30b. The hydraulic pump is therefore, not necessarily of a great capacity, the aforesaid constitution can contribute much to the success of making the device light in weight.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
