PURPOSE:To provide the developer which has sufficient offset resistance at the time of fixing, lowers the lower limit temp. for fixing and does not generate sticking around a fixing roll by incorporating a binder resin, release agent, charge control agent agents which are respectively specific into the developer. CONSTITUTION:This developer contains at least a polyester resin and a styrene acrylic resin having 60 to 75Tg and 0% toluene insoluble-content as the toner binder resin and contains a free fatty acid carnauba wax, etc., having =5 acid value and montan ester wax and/or oxidized rice bean wax of 10 to 30 acid value as the release agent. Further, the developer contains a quaternary ammonium salt copolymer compd. having the constitutional units expressed by formulas I, II and 65:35 to 97:3 ratio of the formula I and the formula II as the charge control agent. In the formulas, I, II, R1, R2 denote a hydrogen atom or methyl group; R3 denotes an alkylene group; R4 to R6 denote an alkyl group.
