PROCESS AND INSTALLATION FOR THE CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF STRIP STEEL OR SHEET STEEL ACCORDING TO THE CONINUOUS-CASTING PROCESS

A process for the continuous production of hoop steel or sheet steel from flat products produced according to the continuous arched casting process having a horizontal run-out direction is disclosed. The process comprises deformation of the flat product after solidication of the continuous casting in a first deformation stage at temperature exceeding 1100.degree.C, inductive reheating up to a temperature of about 1100.degree.C and deformation of the flat product in at least one further deformation stage. The process makes it possible to produce coils of strip steel of any desired mass and sheets of sheet steel of any desired length without modifying the dimension parameters of the installation. An installation to carry out the process is also disclosed.
