The arrangement of the articulation damping device according to the invention can be seen from Fig.2. On the front coach a hydraulic cylinder 2 or shock absorber 2' is hinged at 5 at a distance y from the longitudinal centre plane. On the other side, symmetrically with this, also at a distance y from the longitudinal centre plane, a hydraulic cylinder 19 or shock absorber 19' is also hinged at 5'. At the other end the two cylinders 2, 19 or shock absorbers 2', 19' are hinge-connected to 4 on the slewing ring outer section 1' in a vertical plane on the longitudinal centre plane. With the cylinders or shock absorbers in this position the articulated set is in straight- line running. The distance of the articulation points 5, 5' from the articulation point 4 in the longitudinal centre plane is designated by x, the inner dead centre position of the hydraulic cylinders or shock absorbers by bmin, the radius of the slewing ring by a, the bending angle between front coach 3 and follower 6 by angle beta . Angle gamma is the angle formed by the straight line from point 5 or 5' to the centre point of the slewing ring and the longitudinal centre plane. If the follower 6 now bends to the left, the hydraulic cylinder 2 or shock absorber 2' and hydraulic cylinder 19 or shock absorber 19' are shifted to the right, the travel from 2, 2' to the point A being reduced and the travel from 19, 19' to point A being increased by the same amount. At point A the moment of 2, 2' is equal to 0. On the travel beyond A the moments of the cylinders 2, 19 or the shock absorbers 2', 19' are cumulative. …IMAGE…
