Procedure for the synthesis of 3-(2-dimethylamino)ethyl)- N-methyl-1H-indole-5-methanosulphonamide. The object of the invention consists in obtaining an intermediate hydrazone starting from 4-amino-N-methyl- benzenemethanosulphonamide and ethyl 2-(3-dimethylamino- propyl)cyanoacetate, treating the reaction product with an acid in an alcoholic medium in order to obtain an indole-2-carboxylic acid and performing a subsequent decarboxylation in order to obtain the 3-[(2- dimethylamino)ethyl]-N-methyl-1H-indole-5- methanosulphonamide, which recrystallizes from an organic solvent in accordance with diagram II for the purpose of treating and preventing cranial vascular dilatation.
