ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA new material in the form of a cast iron casting, saidmaterial having a certain thickness of nodular cast iron at andin the vicinity of at least one of its outside surfaces, whilethe remainder of said casting has a cast iron structure whichis at least partially vermicular. Said material may beobtained by casting a suitable melt into a mold containing achiller type wall. The resulting castings are particularlysuitable for constituting molds for glass making.
