The present invention relates to the detection of the length and shape of chips required in automation of machining.;The problem of chip processing in machining is important, and chip detection must be done first. The present invention is a device for detecting the length and shape of a chip by mounting a thin plate on a portion where chips are dropped and attaching a sensor thereon and analyzing the signal.
