Based on the relationship between the efficiency, the flow rate, the variable head (H), and the pitch angles of the guide wheel (y) and turbine runner (q) of the model curve, alterations are made to the wheel and runner pitch angles in the full-rate. The outputs generated before and after the alterations are compared, determining in stages the optimum efficiency for each pair of pitch settings. These operations can be repeated on the full-size machine for different heads and flow rates. USE/ADVANTAGE - For a double-governed turbine. Faster and simpler setting.
