Each forme cylinder has a separate drive and automatic clamps for the forme plate securing. Each has also a feed of new forme plates, with the feeds and drives coupled to a central control. To the latter is also connected a forme plate removal mechanism. The connection between a forme cylinder and printing cylinder is pref. releasable, and a clutch may be incorporated between a continuous gear train and the forme cylinder. The compression between the forme cylinder and a rubber cylinder may be also releasable. USE/ADVANTAGE - For colour printing, with reduced forme plate exchange time.
