Device for the temporary covering of a recess filled with a bone-forming material, such as hydroxyapatite granules, in an endogenous bone with a covering membrane in order to accelerate healing, the covering membrane being allocated a reinforcing layer, characterised in that a flexible cuff which embraces the covering membrane on the side facing the bone and the reinforcing layer on the side facing away from the bone, and two sealing edges, can be firmly closed by connecting elements that engage into the reinforcing layer on enveloping the bone in the region of the recess forming a bone defect.
