Combination of lamp and miniature transformer - has plug-in transformer section in lamp base allowing use of 12 volts or mains volts

The combination of lamp and miniature transformer (240 volts to 12 volts) has the latter (4) within a housing (2) between the threaded connector (1) and the 12 volt bulb itself (7). The transformer housing has ventilation slits (3) and a heat protection plate (5). Around the bulb is a reflector (12) on a framework (14) which can be of variable size. The transformer housing has plug-in connectors on either side and can be removed if the lamp is to be used directly off a 12 volt, e.g. battery supply, or kept in if the supply is from the mains. ADVANTAGE - Lamp can be powered from 12 volts or mains.
