A pump unit (1) mounted on a horizontal deck (2) is connected by pipes (3) to change-over valves (4,6) supplying port and starboard nozzles (5,7) below the waterline (11). Both valves are connected cable (9) to a control panel (10). Either nozzle can pump or suck water for discharge from the opposite side of the bow. The pump can be operated selectively as a centrifugal pump or as a high-pressure cleaning unit.
