The outdoor sensor (1) converts the temp. value into an electrical resistance which is digitised (2) and stored (3) together with a number of earlier measurements. An average value is obtd. (4) and corrected (5) by the addn. of a quantity representing the temp. trend. The corrected average is used, together with a preselected quantity (6) input either automatically or manually, in computation (7) of a control signal for a storage heater (8). Two variants of the memory management are disclosed involving either linear interpolation over 24 hours or cyclic overwriting with fresh data. ADVANTAGE - Control is better adapted to atmospheric conditions for night-storage heating systems and others having considerable inertia.
