The temp. at which heat is supplied from a fossil-fuel-fired heater is regulated in response to signals from an outdoor temp. sensor (2) in a housing (1) immediately adjacent to that (8) of a ferrite rod antenna (6) whose coil (70) is wired (73) to a distribution box (5). This contains a demodulator, a voltage-controlled oscillator, a multiplexer and its synchronising circuit linked by cable (9) to the heating regulator where signals are decoded. ADVANTAGE - Reception of time signals is not degraded by reinforced concrete walls, and information can be transmitted over only three lines.
