The head has a mounting plate (4) at the end of the robot arm, equipped with a first yoke (3). A second yoke (6) is mounted on a pivot (5) inside the first yoke, with the pivot axis perpendicular to the flanks of the first yoke. The second yoke carries a motor (15) with its shaft (16) projecting approximately downward and carrying a milling tool (17) that forms grooves in the surface of a flat material. An actuator (8) is positioned so it alters the inclination of the second yoke relative to the first.
