An upper rail (21) has a roller gutter (41) and a lower rail (31) has a sliding channel guide (51). A sliding door (6) comprises a panel (7) with two runners (11,12) located on its two edges (7a,7b). The runner widths allow free engagement in the gutter. Two rollers (8) are mounted inside the first runner (11). The guide (10) is mounted inside the second runner (12) so that the sliding door (6) may be suspended or supported by the upper rail. If the rollers are anchored in the gutter and the guide is supported on the lower rail, the rollers run on the guide channel and the gutter slides relative to the second runner of the door.
