Automatic machine for mounting heating resistors (7) on respective washing tanks for washing machines. A conveyor belt (4) conveys the tanks (6), one after the other and in a predetermined orientation, opposite an assembly station (5). Supply means (12-16, 19, 20) transport the resistors (7), one after the other and in a predetermined orientation, opposite a pusher head (21) aligned with an opening in the tank (6) which is located in the assembly station (5). The pusher head (21) positions each resistor (7) on the associated tank (6), with a fixing base (9) opposite said opening where the resistor is fixed using a tool (23).
