PURPOSE: To prevent a diamond tool from breaking caused by overloading and to perform safe and efficient processing by making a constitution wherein rotational speeds of a feed screw bar and/or a processing knife edge are controlled by the detecting value of a load variation detecting means detecting displacement of a load variation adapting means. ;CONSTITUTION: In a load controlling apparatus in a stone or stone simulant processing machine, a feed screw bar 12 driven by means of a servo motor is provided and a processing head supporting member 15 with a feed internal thread 17 is supported with free movement along the first guide rail 14 and a processing head provided with a diamond blade 20 is supported on the second guide rail 18 being in parallel with the first guide rail 14. In addition, a load variation adapting means 22 is combined with free displacement through an elastic member in the sliding direction and displacement of this load variation adapting means 22 is detected by means of a load variation detecting means 23 and rotational speed of the feed screw bar 12 and/or the diamond blade 20 is controlled by this detected value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
