PURPOSE: To prepare a bile acid-adsorbing agent containing an ion exchange resin comprising a specific cross-linked polymer, sufficient in small dosages, lowered in foreign feeling on its oral administration, having high stability against acids, and useful as a hyperlipidemia-treating medicine capable of lowering a cholesterol value in blood. ;CONSTITUTION: The agent contains an anion exchange resin comprising a cross- linked polymer containing a monomer of the formula (X- is a counter ion) and other monomers (e.g. ethylene, propylene, styrene, methyl methacrylate) as constituents. The ion exchange resin is obtained by copolymerizing chloromethyl styrene, the monomer of the formula, a copolymerizable monomer and a cross-linking agent (e.g. divinylbenzene, trivinylbenzene) and subsequently reacting the obtained water-insoluble cross-linked copolymer with pyridine. The monomer of the formula is introduced into the copolymer in an amount of 0-90mol.%, preferably 0-50mol.%, based on the whole monomers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
