PURPOSE: To provide production method resin having high water absorption properties, capable of stably supplying properly large particles having 280-450μm primary particle diameters by polymerization. ;CONSTITUTION: In producing a resin having high water absorption properties and 280-450μm primary particle diameters by subjecting water-soluble monomers consisting essentially of (meth)acrylic acid and a water-soluble salt of (meth) acrylic acid to reversed phase suspension polymerization in the presence or absence of a cross-linking agent by using a radical polymerization initiator in a hydrocarbon solvent, a surfactant used in the reversed phase polymerization is a mixed surfactant of a sucrose fatty acid ester (A) having 6.5-10 HLB value and (B) a sorbitan fatty acid ester having 1-6 HLB value to provide the objective production method of a resin having high water absorption properties.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
