PURPOSE: To provide the string breakage-informing device capable of accurately detecting the roll-like wound knotting string to be unwound from the outside without collapsing the roll-like wound shape, capable of detecting the string before its breakage but not after its breakage to prevent the missing of the knotting, facilitating the stringing of an exchanged knotting string, and improving the efficiency of a knotting work. ;CONSTITUTION: The central core part (2a) of a roll-like wound knotting string (2) to be unwound from the outside is inserted onto a supporter (1). A string breakage-detecting sensor (S) capable of being switched off with the pressing pressure of the knotting string (2) generated by inserting the roll-like wound knotting string (2) and switched on in a string-free state is disposed in the peripheral surface part of the supporter (1) at the approximately intermediate position of its whole height.
