DIMMING DEVICE FOR REAR-END COLLISION PREVENTING AUXILIARY STOP LAMP

PURPOSE: To provide a dimming device for an auxiliary stop lamp formed so as to prevent a burden from being applied to eyes of a driver in the following vehicle. ;CONSTITUTION: Ordinary stop lamps 1, 2 and an auxiliary lamp 3 are provided in a circuit of a brake switch 4. By on-operating the brake switch 4, a capacitor C is charged through a relay contact 7. When a relay 6 is actuated to switch the relay contact 7, voltage of the capacitor C is applied to a base of a transistor 5, to light the auxiliary stop lamp 3, and in accordance with decreasing the voltage of the capacitor C, brightness of the auxiliary stop lamp 3 is gradually decreased. After the voltage of the capacitor C is dropped to specified voltage, a current flows in the base of the transistor 5 from a dimming circuit 8 having the second resistor R₂, to continue the auxiliary stop lamp 3 lighted in a condition that the brightness is decreased.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
