METHOD FOR RETRIEVING UNRECORDED PART OF VTR TAPE AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING MIS-ERASURE OF RECORDED PART OF VTR TAPE

PURPOSE: To prevent overlap writing by counting the section length of a continuous whole unrecorded, part storing the section length, displaying it, subtracting an elapsed time of recording, and updating display, at the time of retrieving an unrecorded part of a VTR tape. ;CONSTITUTION: A control section 4 initializes a counter section 7 at the time of starting count. A feed rate of a VTR tape of a VTR mechanics 1 is expressed in terms of a time at the time of reproducing with normal speed and the time is counted. When a recorded part is detected during counting, the control section 4 finishes FF search in the VTR mechanics 1 and the counting of an unrecorded section in the counting section 7, and stores a count value in a storage section 5. The control section 4 rewinds only on unrecorded part by section length, after a joining of a boundary part is performed, recording is temporarily stopped, a value of an unrecorded part is read from the storage section 5 and displayed on a display section 6, sent to the counting section and initialized. The control section 4 makes the VTR mechanics 1 a video recording state by depressing a trigger SW 9. After initialization of the counting section 7 is performed, subtraction of an actual video recording time is performed in the counting section, a residual time is displayed on the display section 6.
