PURPOSE:To provide an unamalgamated alkaline button battery excellent in liquid leak resistance. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode section 1 and a negative electrode section 2 pressed with a negative electrode mix 2b to the inside of a disk-like negative electrode terminal 2a made of a copper clad material or a copper plated steel plate are coupled via a gasket 3 inserted into the outer periphery section of the negative electrode terminal 2a and a separator 5. In this unamalgamated alkaline button battery, only the negative electrode mix contact face 2a1 of the negative electrode terminal 2a is coated with one kind of metal raw material 6 among In, Sn, or solder. When the inner face of the negative electrode terminal 2a is coated with the metal raw material 6 such as Sn, In, or solder, a local battery is hardly formed at the contact section between a zinc negative electrode and the negative electrode terminal 2a face, the generation of hydrogen gas is suppressed, and the leak of an electrolyte due to the rise of the battery internal pressure is prevented. The contact face between the negative electrode terminal 2a and the gasket 3 is not coated with the metal raw material 6, thus a creeping phenomenon hardly occurs on the contact face, and the liquid leak resistance is further improved.
