PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of blister, at burning of porcelain enamel, caused by powder inclusion at the time of continuous casting by specifying a composition and incorporating trace amounts of Sn. ;CONSTITUTION: This steel material has a composition consisting of, by weight ratio, ≤0.003% C, 0.15-0.65% Mn, 0.004-0.025% P, 0.005-0.025% S, 0.005-0.05% Cu, ≤0.005% N, 0.03-0.065% O, 0.005-0.01% Sn, and the balance essentially Fe with inevitable impurities. Although the steel material of this composition can be produced under the ordinary system, it is desirable that, in order to improve workability, the steel, after steelmaking decarburization and denitridation, is subjected, after hot rolling or cold rolling, further to decarburization and decarburizing annealing. Moreover, it is preferable to regulate hot rolling finishing temp. to a value not lower than the Ar3 transformation point in order to secure workability, and further, preferred coiling temp. is 500-700°C, considering fishscale resistance and mechanical properties. In the case where cold rolling is done, it is preferable to regulate cold rolling rate to 60-95% in order to secure fishscale resistance and deep drawability.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
