METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORMING AND MAINTAINING ACCESS AGENT GROUP IN LAN/WAN INTERFACE

PURPOSE: To construct network environment for the group management of an access agent in a LAN/WAN interface. ;CONSTITUTION: A group must maintain the consistency of group operation even after communication between agents within the group is broken, and these access agents continues the execution of a communicating job as group operation by gathering to make sub-groups. The grouping of the mutually connected access agent is attained by identifying one of them as a group reader. The maintaining of the consistency of group operation is realized by detecting the breaking of the consistency of group communication. After then the group is reformed to be plural small groups. In order to maintain the consistency of group operation in addition, it is included to merge the small groups into a larger group when a bridge is added between LAN segments.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
