NOVEL ANTI-PROTEIN MEDIATION SUBSTANCE KIT, ITS PREPARATION, AND MEDICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING IT

PURPOSE: To provide both a new therapeutic kit for an anti-protein mediator and a method for producing the kit and to obtain a pharmaceutical preparation containing the therapeutic kit. CONSTITUTION: This kit contains at least three antibodies capable of recognizing three definite epitopes of a protein mediator in order to neutralize the short-lived protein mediator having a size sufficient to contain at least three antibody- binding sites. At least one of the antibodies contains an antibody so as to block biological activities of the protein mediator. For example, the kit is capable of selectively blocking a cytokine, preferably interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the form of an immune complex having a longer residence time in vivo than that of a free IL-6 in vivo while avoiding the accumulation of the immune complex with an agent capable of binding to the cytokine.
