ANODE PLATE FOR ELECTROLYTIC CELL OF MANGANESE DIOXIDE

PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion in the upper part of an anode plate over the liquid surface by coating a titanium or titanium alloy anode plate with manganese dioxide or oxide of ruthenium, palladium or platinum. ;CONSTITUTION: A manganese dioxide coating film is formed to ≥10μm thickness on an anode plate. A film of oxide of ruthenium, palladium or platinum is formed to ≥1mm thickness, The anode plate may be upside down so that the part usually over the liquid surface is preliminarily coated with manganese dioxide, and then the anode plate is returned to the original position to perform electrolysis of manganese oxide. Thus, the cost for exchanging anodes is decreased and the period to stop the operation of the device can be decreased.
