PURPOSE: To obtain a latex compsn. capable of forming a coating material having excellent coating properties when cured under a circumferential temp. or high temp. condition. ;CONSTITUTION: In a polymer latex compsn. in an aq. paint or a wood coating material, the polymer thereof consists of (a) acetoacetoxyethyl acrylate or acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate, (b) glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate, (c) at least one ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable acid and (d) a component derived from at least one monomer copolymerizable with them and characterized by that the sum total wt.% of (a), (b), (c) in the polymer latex compsn. is about 3-60 wt.% of the sum total amt. of the solid in the latex and the sum total wt.% of (d) in the latex compsn. is about 97-40 wt.% of the sum total amt. of the polymer solid in the latex.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
