A metal-enclosed medium voltage switchgear panel (1) has a switching compartment (2), a bus bar compartment (4) and a cable connecting compartment (10). The bus bar compartment (4) and the cable connecting compartment (10) are arranged in a first housing (31), whereas a front frame for holding a door (7) of the switching compartment (2) and at least part of the switching compartment (2) are integral parts of a second housing (32). A third housing (45) is optionally arranged between the first housing (31) and the second housing (32) in order to create a compartment type switchgear panel, in which a bulkhead provided with passages for disconnecting contacts is arranged between the switching compartment (2) and the other two compartments (4, 10).
