The invention relates to a spare wheel holder (1) for attachment to a lorry chassis (6), preferably with lateral alignment, having carrying arms (2, 3) which are swivellably attached to joint points (4, 5) constructed on mounting legs (2', 3') bent through approximately 90 DEG and are releasibly attached to the chassis (6) at a further mounting point, at a region extending approximately perpendicularly to the mounting legs (2', 3'), the carrying arms (2, 3) arranged in a V shape being connected to one another by means of a transverse member (16); and proposes, in order to increase the usefulness, in particular the durability even under difficult conditions with a design which is constructionally as simple as possible, that the transverse member (16) be securely connected at both ends to in each case a connecting element (18, 19) which surrounds a carrying arm (2, 3) in a loosely form-fitting manner.
