System for the nasal administration of cyanocobalamine (vitamin B12). The system comprises the use of a formulation, which may or may not be isotonic, of appropriate viscosity, which contains bioadhesives and is presented in the form of gels, lotions, ointments, creams, suspensions or powders, also including preservatives, absorption promoters, physical and chemical stabilizers, pH buffers, solvents and vehicles which are appropriate for or compatible with cyanocobalamine. In a typical composition according to the invention, each 100 ml contains 0.41 g of cyanocobalamine, 5 ml of 70% sorbitol, 2 ml of pantothenol, 0.20 g of methylparaben, 0.18 g of acetic acid, 0.15 g of sodium acetate, 2 g of methyl cellulose, 1.50 ml of glycerine, 1000 ml of water, sodium chloride, 20 ml of polyglycolized glyceride (HLB=14), 5 ml of polyglycolized glyceride (HLB = 3.5), 10 ml of polyglyceryl isostearate and 0.02 g of propylparabene.
