A computer system or network tailors scopes ofcommit processing by using local work unit identifiersand more global logical unit of work identifiers. Thelocal work unit identifiers are used to identify thescope of commit processing within each executionenvironment, and the logical unit of work identifiers areused to identify related work units of differentexecution environments. The related work units arecoupled to each other by a protected conversation betweenthe execution environments.
