Brake lining wear monitoring means for use with vehicle brakes of the kind in which a friction lining has an operative face adapted to be applied to a rotatable braking member (1) is disclosed. To avoid cycling of the brake wear sensor (35) on each brake application, the brake wear sensor is driven by the adjuster mechanism (8) for the friction lining, which does not cycle on each brake application, but nonetheless provides an indication of brake wear.
