Composition for promoting the formation and development of bone cells. It contains deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), to which are bound active carriers modulating the phenotypic expression of bone cells, as well as a physiologically acceptable amount of a pH stabiliser. The active modulatory carriers are chosen from tocopherols, carotenoids and xanthophylls.
