The powdered lubricant or separator is blown continuously through a blow nozzle (16) onto the stressed surfaces as the tablet pressing machine is being operated. Excess powder is continuously sucked up from the areas adjoining the stressed surfaces. The blow nozzle is mounted at a slight distance above the matrix disc (10) with its lower nozzle opening (18) directed towards the revolving path of the matrix holes (12) and its upper nozzle opening (19) directed towards the revolving path of the upper ram (14).
