The present invention relates to a novel cut flower preservative composition for storage and preservation of cut flowers. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cut flower preserving agent capable of improving flowering defects and life span shortening caused by low-temperature storage, and a cut flower preserving method using the same, in order to control release of the leaves. The present invention relates to a herbicidal preservative which comprises sucrose, siver thiosulfate, gibberellin and a superoxide disulfide which decomposes superoxide, which is a toxic substance produced in the cell due to low temperature. And manganese which promotes the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD).
