The blood container used for auto transfusion during serious operations is an envelope (3) divided into upper and lower parts by a cross membrane (16) which does not allow blood to flow through. A side opening (20) near the top forms an inlet connection and a central opening (24) at the top forms an outlet connection. A side opening (9) at the bottom forms an inlet connection for a gas under pressure. Controlling discharge from the top opening (24) is a sieve (25) and a valve element (7) formed by a floating ball (10). The top opening is at the end of a tapered neck (8) forming a seating surface for the valve element.
