The shockproof optical disc (IT) player reads information by two separate laser beams (RB1, RB2) that communicate with a scanning unit (ATE). The laser beams obtain data from different regions of the disc. The shockproof function is provided by the action of the second beam (RB2) that provides data that is scanned (DRB2) and entered in a memory (RAM). During an interruption the data can be read to maintain a continuous output from the system.
