The quick-change chuck has a device for increasing the response force in the form of a locking ball (35) which can be pressed through spring force into a bearing recess of the chuck body. The locking ball is releasably displaceable between two tension balls (40) which are mounted in an axial recess of the chuck shaft and are tensioned against each other by axially aligned pressure springs (41).The axial recess in the chuck shaft is open to the outside and closed by a detachable cover sleeve. The disengaged locking ball adjoins the chuck body with low pressure preventing deformations.
