The invention relates to a bucket (10) for an excavator or an excavator-like machine, which bucket (10) is in two pieces and the two bucket shells (40, 42) of which can be pivoted about parallel pivot axes (18, 18') by means of a piston/cylinder arrangement (26), having a bearing block (28) via which the bucket (10) can be linked to an excavator arm (30'). To achieve the object of developing this bucket (10) in such a way that it can be pivoted laterally as a unit, a further piston/cylinder arrangement (50) for laterally pivoting the entire bucket (10) about a central pivot axis (46) is integrated in the bearing block (28), which piston/cylinder arrangement (50) acts on the one hand on a bearing point (18') of one of the bucket shells (40, 42) and on the other hand on a shift lever (52), the shift lever (52) acting with one end on the bearing point (18) of the other respective bucket shell and being connected with the other end via a coupling member (54) to an extension (48) of the bearing block (28).
