PURPOSE:To produce the title protein by transforming Escherichia coli with a recombinant plasmid incorporated with gene coding OmpA signal sequence having a specific base sequence and by putting the resulting transformant to culture. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a recombinant plasmid is prepared by incorporating (A) Escherichia coli manifestation vector having PL promoter of Escherichia coli lambda phage origin and cI 857 repressor gene with (B) gene coding OmpA signal sequence. Second, Escherichia coli is transformed using this recombinant plasmid, and the resulting transformant is put to culture to produce antiviral protein of Mirabilis origin (MAP). This MAP is then separated and purified, thus obtaining the objective antiviral protein. Said transformant can be put to culture in a medium containing carbon source, nitrogen source, minerals, and, if needed, amino acid(s), etc.
