On the extender (12) side, the chair cushion (11) rests on the main frame (10) via struts (23) which enclose the cushion in U-shape when the extender is retracted. The chair frame consists of two stringers (2) which extend from the rear wall (1), and are joined by a batten (3) so as to guide the enclosed frame via rollers (9) together with the struts. The additional bolster (13) has a strip (24) in the non-chair side which can swing down towards the chair frame against a load spring. It can then rest in the couch setting on the extended facing plate (22), the bolster thus adopting a slightly angled setting.
