The device which can be fitted onto paintpots and the like in order to hold paintbrushes is noteworthy in that it comprises a supporting backplate (2) held on with fixing hooks (4), the said supporting backplate extending at the front into a horizontal or inclined mesh (grid, grille) (6) on the one hand constituting an area on which to rest the "bristles" part of the brushes, and on the other hand forming a scraper to allow these paintbrushes to drip through the openings formed in the mesh, the said device being positioned inside the paintpot or similar container.
