The guide device is composed of two railway elements set up next to the axles of the road vehicle. Each element is composed of a frame (9) which is fitted under the vehicle side frames. The axle (6) of the railway wheels (1) is out of alignment to allow passage of hydraulic motors (2). The railway wheels with their hydraulic motors are mounted on pivot axles (3) which allow the self-orientation of the wheels on the rails and integrate a hydraulic suspension (4) per wheel, in front of the pivot axle connected to a nitrogen sphere. The right and left wheels of each axle are connected by a coupling bar (7) to an elastic movement control (8).
