The catching device (10) for a container has holder (20) fitted on the container close to its standing surface, a drip tray (30) mounted by the holder, and a cover plate (40) with holes and fitting over the drip tray and which also serves as a standing surface. The holder has engagement elements which detachably fit in openings in the container for the mounting of the holder. The engagement elements are in the form of snap-in elements with finger-like protrusions elastically sprung out in the vertical and/or horizontal direction.
