METHOD AND KIT FOR DETECTING GUANINE OR ACARID IN DUST

PURPOSE: To detect guanine or acarid in dust easily and accurately with high sensitivity by extracting dusts in housing through the use of an aqueous solution containing dimethyl sulfoxide. ;CONSTITUTION: Dusts in housing is extracted using an aqueous solution containing dimethyl sulfoxide of alkaline metal hydroxide. An extraction liquid thus obtained is subjected to color reaction with an aromatic diazo compound and guanine or acarid in the dust is detected based on the color density. More specifically, an aqueous solution 1 containing dimethyl sulfoxide of alkaline metal hydroxide is contained in a small container 2 with cover and dusts in housing are immersed into the aqueous solution 1 thus extracting guanine. A color identification test element 3 comprising a base body coated or impregnated with an aromatic diazo compound, and an evaluation sample 4 arranged with a plurality of ranked color samples corresponding to the density of guanine are also employed. The test element 3 is a paper strip which is filled in a small container 5 applied with samples 4 on the outer surface thereof.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
