PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic element provided with improved backing layer behavior and provide a manufacturing method thereof. ;SOLUTION: A photographic element is provided with a polyester support medium, at least one photosensitive layer on one side face of the polyester support medium, and an antistatic preventing layer on another side face of the support medium. The antistatic layer, which contains conductive metal oxide in a hydrophilic binder, is overcoated with a layer containing cellulose ester binder. In the photographic element, an undercoating layer arranged between the antistatic layer and the polyester support medium is given by means of a solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
