ILLUMINATION CULTURE OF SHORT-DAY FLOWERING PLANT

摘要

PURPOSE: To illuminate a short-day flowering plant by irradiating a red light having the peak wavelength in a prescribed range, to perform efficient illumination culture of the short-day flowering plant, thus to lower the illumination cost, adequately and surely regulate the flowing and improve the quality of the flowers to be harvested. CONSTITUTION: An optical semiconductor such as a light-emitting diode is used as a light source and a short-day flowering plant such as chrysanthemum is illuminated with a red light having the peak wavelength at 580-740nm, while maintaining the quantity of the light over 20mW/m2 on the culture surface of the plant to perform the illumination culture of a short-day flowering plant.
