摘要

PURPOSE: To correct luminescent point defects without giving a thermal damage by a laser beam to films exclusive of oriented films by irradiating the oriented films with the laser beam of the spot smaller than the pixel of a liquid crystal display device, thereby correcting the luminescent point defects. ;CONSTITUTION: The laser beam 13 of the spot smaller than the pixel is used and the oriented films 9 are irradiated with the laser beam 13 from the glass substrate 2 side. The oriented films 9 are scanned with the laser beam 13 cast to the oriented films 9 in the two-dimensional direction within the plane parallel with the display plane of the liquid crystal display device, by which the oriented films 9 are partially removed in pixel units and the transmittance of the luminescent point defect pixel parts is decreased. Namely, the heat input quantity per unit time of the laser beam 13 is lowered when the oriented films are irradiated with the laser beam 13 of the spot smaller than the pixel. The protective film 7 and calored layers 6 do not receive the thermal damage any more and further, the evaporation rate of liquid crystals 1 is lowered.
